Dr. David Olson earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in 1998, and completed his residency training at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California in 2003. Dr. Olson completed a post-graduate fellowship in otology, focusing on the diseases of the ear and hearing. He has particular expertise in microsurgical techniques to improve hearing and to eliminate infection and tumors of the ear. Dr. Olson is thus one of approximately 15 surgeons in the state with a similar level of training and expertise.
Dr. Olson serves on the board of the Pacific Rim Surgery Center and is a guest lecturer for otologic conferences at Swedish and Virginia Mason Hospitals in Seattle. He and his wife, Rachel, are actively involved through their church community in Deep Waters Ministries, a group providing water purification systems for at-risk communities in Central America.
When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Olson is spending time with his wife and two children. They enjoy hiking, camping, and canoeing, and can often be found making music around an evening campfire. “We love this area and this community on account of its strong outdoor ethic and beautiful natural surroundings.”
