Dr. Avram Hecht joined Bellingham Ear Nose & Throat in 2018 and is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery. He is a 3rd generation physician in his family to proudly serve Whatcom County, where he was raised. He graduated medical school from the University of Washington in 2012, where he also received a master’s degree in public health. Subsequently he completed his surgical training at UC San Diego with research interests in head and neck cancer and public health outcomes.
Dr. Hecht enjoys practicing comprehensive ENT for both adults and children (he has 2 small children and understands that developing a relaxed and fun relationships with his pediatric patients is of the utmost importance). He strives to provide compassionate care to all his patients and has interests in head and neck cancer surgery, endoscopic sinus and nasal airway procedures, thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He is one of two physicians in the group that perform evaluations of the larynx and voice using in-office video-stroboscopy, vocal cord injections and microscopic laser surgery for the larynx. Dr. Hecht speaks Spanish fluently.
When not in the office, Dr. Hecht enjoys gardening with his children and his wife, Dr. Corinne Hecht, exploring the Salish Sea, and skiing and hiking in the North Cascades. If the name looks familiar in this office it is because Dr. Avram Hecht joined Bellingham ENT approximately 8 years after his father, Dr. R.E. Hecht retired from this same group, which he founded nearly 45 years ago.
