Bellingham Ear, Nose & Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery, Inc. trace their roots to Dr. Hecht. Born and raised in Whatcom County, Dr. Hecht followed his father's footsteps into medicine.

Dr. Hecht graduated with honors from the University of Washington School of Medicine, and was named outstanding intern in his class. He subsequently graduated from the Naval Aerospace Medical institute before completing his residency and staff work at the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Hecht achieved board certification in 1975 and formed Bellingham Ear, Nose & Throat and The Centre for Plastic & Laser Surgery.

Recently, Dr. Hecht has served as Vice President for the Northwest Academy of Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Hecht contributes to several facial plastic and head & neck courses each year as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Additionally, he volunteers his services to victims of domestic violence, and helps those with special needs. He maintains a thorough knowledge of the most current treatments and procedures by contributing to and attending several medical conferences annually.

Dr. Hecht strives for compassionate care for his patients, and works diligently to find solutions for their problems. He is innovative, and pays meticulous attention to detail. Dr. Hecht individualizes patient-centered care for each of those he serves, and practices comprehensive, natural health methods that facilitate integrating conventional medicine with complimentary treatements. He directs the "state of the art" Centre for Facial Plastic & Laser Surgery, and sub-specializes in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In addition, Dr. Hecht treats specific head and neck problems such as nasal, sinus, voice (vocal chord), thyroid and parathyroid problems.

Dr. Hecht's extensive community involvement is represented by service to over twenty local and state board directorships, predominantly in leadership positions. He and his wife, Tannia, live in Whatcom County where they raised their two children, and continue to love the Northwest.
